13 Signs You Are Dealing with Anxiety

Posted by Kyla Plaxton on

According to a study commissioned by the ADAA (Anxiety and Depression Association of America), in North America, more than $22.84 billion is spent on the repeated use of health care services by people with anxiety disorders when they seek relief for symptoms that mimic physical illnesses.

Kind of a funny thing happened recently. I had my friend reading over some of my work just for curiosity when she told me that she would never have known that she had anxiety had she not read my work on it! Let me explain to you what I mean.

Anxiety doesn’t always feel like anxiety. It can feel like a knot in your stomach or shallow breathing, for example, that you may have just gotten used to.

Dealing with anxiety doesn’t mean there’s anything wrong with you. Most of the clients that come to my table have some sort of low level of anxious feelings just from being in their day. Deadlines, arguments with the kids, being on time are just small parts of our day to day lives that can enhance our feelings of anxiety or anxious feelings.

Here are 13 other symptoms that can point to whether or not you are dealing with Anxiety in your life.

• Migraines or neck tension

• Short-tempered

• Trouble focusing

• Decreased productivity at work

• Diminished quality of family time

• Panic attacks

• Sleepless nights

• Binge eating

• Feelings of “running ragged”

• Overwhelm

• Isolation

• Lack of confidence

• Inability to accomplish a goal

Do you experience any of these common symptoms associated with Anxiety? I invite you to check in with yourself, with your body and find out your inner truth.
